Time has been in serious short supply lately. I am very happily sitting my butt down tonight for the first time in…a while.
Most of it, of course, is of my own making. I’m spending all kinds of time with The New Beau (future blog post note). I’ve been working out quite a bit (future blog post note). I’ve had to work late one night a week with The Job. Outside of Sleep, I’ve literally spent less than eight hours a week at home doing stuff. My Tivo is near to bursting, I’ve forgotten what my couch feels like under my butt, and my cat is pissed.
Just another day in the life…
I’m tired. But I’m happy. Funny how that works, huh?
In the last week, I have learned how to use a pastry bag (by making these awesome brandy snaps) and sewn an eyemask:
In the last 36 hours I have finished my first pillow and made salted caramels:
I am currently looking forward to a trip to Charleston (sometime in the next two months) and a surfing lesson, and to visit from the maternal unit.
And a possible move to Finland?
Doubtful, but not outside of the realm of possibility.
Because you really never know…
Life is fun, i’n’it?

Man, this week was nuts. I guess I shouldn’t say it was the week from hell, because it wasn’t bad, it was just busy.
- Monday night – French class
- Tuesday night – date (incredibly cute, incredibly dull man – I won’t bore you with the details)
- Wednesday night – Cooking club
- Thursday night – a happy Becoming an American wine celebration with my Swedish friend
- Friday night – was so looking to going home and relaxing, but was at work until 6:30, then ran home to do laundry
- Saturday morning – self-defense class
- Saturday night – LSU game-watching (and FABulous Lady Gaga Wannabe watching) uptown
Tomorrow, boat, followed by date. Monday night french class again, Wednesday night I have…something…and I’ve promised a date to a guy either Tuesday or Thursday, not sure which yet.
Did I mention I’m tired as HELL?!
Do you remember that show Out of this World? The girl’s father was an alien (like, from outer space), and she had the ability to stop time.
I wish I had that ability. I’ve always said that if I had a superpower, it would be the ability to control time. Speed it up when I’m bored at work, slow it down when I’m having a good time, and stop it whenever I need to. Like when the alarm goes off in the morning and I feel like I’ve barely slept.
So that’s why I haven’t posted in a while. And why it might be a few more days before I can post. Just in case you were worried about me. 😉
I’ve had a busy week. The second week of the month is generally pretty busy with me, with 2 of 3 of my “clubs” normally falling in the second week. This week, all three of them were this week. Cooking club Monday night, Dinner Club Wednesday night, and Book Club (ha!) Thursday night. I was able to get on the treadmill on Tuesday night, and ended up kind of spacing out watching Hulu and spent over an hour on the treadmill. Back on tonight, blogging, trying to catch up on Match and email and facebook and everything else.
Currently watching “100 Greatest Songs of the 90’s” on VH1, a good background soundtrack. (Wow, was Sugar Ray really the 90’s?) Walking on the treadmill at 2.7 mph while typing, and will soon crank the incline up (but not the speed, as it gets difficult to type above 3 mph). Once I get done here, I’m looking forward to a super ripe avocado, sliced with some salt and Black & Red sprinkled on it. Then, my big decisions include (a) which Netflix movie I’m going to stream, and (b) whether to make veggies and pasta for dinner (really must use the veggies before they go bad) or leftover Chinese food (again, must be eaten before it goes bad). Decisions, decisions.
THEN, I’m going to have a lemon bar and a sugar cookie, leftover from Book Club last night. Yum.
So, yeah, that’s my life right now. Dating update to come soon – some good stories in there, as well as the possibility of Good Times with a possibly Good Guy. We shall see.
If I don’t see you before then, have a wonderful weekend.
